Hi everyone, I’m trying to figure out what type of yoga is best for flexibility. I’m 31 and I’m super stiff in hamstrings and hips (can’t touch my toes, tight lower back, and my shoulders feel locked when I reach overhead). I’ve done a few random YouTube flows and a couple studio classes (vinyasa once, hatha once) but I’m not sure what’s actually the “right” path if flexibility is my main goal.
I’m not chasing crazy contortion poses, I just want to move easier, reduce that tight feeling after sitting all day, and maybe help my posture. Also: I get a little embarrassed in class because everyone seems bendy and calm while I’m shaking.
So… yin vs hatha vs vinyasa vs hot yoga (or anything else)? What worked for you, and how often did you practice before you noticed real changes?
