I’m trying to improve flexibility but I really want to do it safely. I sit at a desk all day, my hamstrings feel like cables, and my hips are super tight. I tried a few random YouTube “deep stretch” flows and honestly I felt more sore in a not-good way (like my lower back was taking over).
I’m not aiming for crazy splits, just to move better, reduce stiffness, and not injure myself. What type of yoga improves flexibility safely? Like, should I do yin, hatha, vinyasa, restorative…? And how often is realistic for progress without pushing too hard? Any beginner-friendly tips (props, cues, what to avoid) are welcome.
