Hi everyone. I’m trying to figure out what type of yoga improves emotional regulation the most. I’m not talking about “never feeling anything,” more like not snapping, not spiraling, and being able to pause before I react.
For context: I’m in my late 20s, work is intense, and when I’m stressed I either get super irritable or I shut down. I’ve tried random YouTube flows and I feel better after, but it doesn’t always carry into the day. I’m also not very flexible and I get overwhelmed in fast classes.
If you had to recommend a style (yin, hatha, vinyasa, kundalini, restorative, hot yoga, etc.) specifically for emotional regulation—what would you pick and why? And is it more about the class style or more about breath/teacher vibes? I’m open to suggestions, and I’m also in therapy already, just looking for a supportive practice to add.
