Hi everyone, I’m trying to be more emotionally intelligent (like noticing my emotions sooner, not snapping, being more empathetic, communicating better). I already do some yoga at home from YouTube, mostly random flows, but I’m not sure if a specific type of yoga is better for emotional intelligence.
For context: I work in a pretty stressful job, I overthink a lot, and when I’m tired I get reactive. I’m not looking for “instant calm,” more like long-term emotional awareness and better self-regulation. Are there yoga styles that train this more directly (yin, hatha, kundalini, restorative, breathwork-focused classes, etc.)? And if you have a weekly routine that helped your emotional intelligence, I’d love to hear it.
(Also: I’m open to therapy too, just curious what yoga can realistically help with.)
