I’ve been doing vinyasa/flow for a while, but lately work stress has been a lot and my sleep has been kinda messy. I tried a restorative yoga class last week (lots of props, long holds, basically no “workout”) and I left feeling weirdly emotional… like lighter, calmer, almost like my body finally unclenched.
I’m trying to understand what makes restorative yoga so healing. Is it just “relaxation,” or is there something deeper going on (breath, nervous system, fascia, energy, etc.)? Also, how often do you practice it for actual benefits without feeling like you’re “doing nothing”? Would love to hear different perspectives.
