Hi everyone 💜 I’m trying to understand the difference between restorative yoga and yoga nidra because in my studio they both look “super relaxing” and I keep mixing them up.
When I’m stressed after work I want something that calms my nervous system and helps me sleep, but I also have a stiff back/hips and I’m not sure if I should pick a restorative class (with bolsters and long holds) or yoga nidra (lying down with a guided script).
In simple terms: what makes restorative yoga different from yoga nidra, and when would you choose one over the other? Also… is yoga nidra basically meditation, or is it still “yoga”? Thanks!
