Hi everyone, I’m new here and I keep seeing the phrase “yoga for mindfulness and healing” (classes, YouTube, even apps). I’ve done a few beginner flows, but I’m honestly not sure what makes it “mindfulness and healing” versus just stretching or working out.
For context: I’ve been feeling stressed for months (work + family stuff), my sleep is not great, and I’m stuck in that constant overthinking loop. I’m not looking for a miracle cure, just something that helps me feel more grounded and less tense in my body. I also have days where I feel emotional and I don’t know if yoga is supposed to “release” things or if that’s just internet talk.
So what is yoga for mindfulness and healing in practical terms? Is it a specific style (yin, restorative, hatha?), specific breathing, or more about the mindset? And what would a simple starting routine look like without getting overwhelmed? Thanks 💜
