I keep hearing people say “do yoga, it calms your mind,” but I’m not sure what that actually means in practice. My issue is overthinking: replaying conversations, planning every possible outcome, and then I can’t sleep. I’m not looking to become super flexible or do fancy poses, I just want something that helps me feel grounded and quiet in my head.
So… what is yoga for calming overthinking? Is it specific poses, breathing, meditation, or a certain style (yin, hatha, restorative)? If you have a simple routine (even 10 minutes) that genuinely helps when the brain won’t switch off, I’d love to hear it. Also, if yoga didn’t help you and something else did, I’m open to that too. (And yes, I’m also considering talking to a therapist if this keeps getting worse.)
