I keep hearing teachers say “embodiment” in yoga classes and online, like “practice embodiment” or “come back into the body.” I get the general vibe, but I don’t really know what it means in practice.
For context: I started yoga to help with stress and posture from desk work. Sometimes I feel super present during a class, other times I’m just thinking about my to-do list while I’m doing the poses. Is yoga embodiment just “being mindful,” or is it something more physical like alignment and muscle engagement?
If anyone can explain what yoga embodiment means (in normal words) and how you actually train it, I’d really appreciate it.
