I keep hearing the term “spiritual yoga” and I’m not sure what people mean by it. I started yoga mostly for stress and posture (desk job, tight shoulders), but sometimes in class the teacher talks about energy, intention, and “connecting to something bigger.”
Is spiritual yoga a specific style (like kundalini?) or is it more about the mindset you bring to any yoga practice? Also, is it tied to religion? I’m open-minded but I don’t want to accidentally sign up for something that feels too intense or culty.
If you practice spiritual yoga, what does it look like in real life (breathing, meditation, chanting, journaling, etc.) and how do you know it’s actually helping? Any beginner-friendly suggestions appreciated.
