Hi everyone, I keep seeing “laughter yoga” videos where people basically do forced laughing in a circle, clapping, chanting, and doing little breathing exercises. I’m curious but also kinda skeptical 😅
Context: I work at a desk all day, stress is high, and I’ve been trying to add something light to my routine besides regular stretching. I’ve done a few beginner yoga classes, but when I’m anxious I hold my breath and get stuck in my head. A friend says laughter yoga “works even if you fake it” and you feel better after.
So… what is laughter yoga exactly? Is it actually a yoga practice or more like group therapy/comedy? And does it really work for stress and mood, or is it just awkward?
Would love to hear real experiences, and if there’s a simple way to try it without feeling embarrassed.
