I keep seeing the phrase “advanced chakra meditation yoga” on YouTube and in studio flyers, and I’m not sure what it actually means beyond the buzzwords. I’ve done basic yoga classes (mostly vinyasa) and a little breathwork, and I’ve tried a couple guided chakra meditations where you visualize colors and repeat affirmations. But “advanced” sounds like there’s a real method or level to it.
Is it a specific type of yoga practice, or just longer meditations focused on the chakras? What makes it advanced—breathing techniques, mantras, bandhas, longer sits, stronger sensations? Also, is it something you should only do with a teacher? I’m curious but I don’t want to jump into something intense without understanding it.
