I’ve been doing aerial yoga for about 6 months (1–2 classes/week) and I’m starting to feel really confident with basic wraps, inversions with support, and some beginner flows. Now I keep seeing “advanced aerial yoga poses” on videos, but I’m not sure what actually counts as advanced vs. just looking fancy.
What are considered advanced aerial yoga poses, and what skills do you usually need first (core strength, shoulder mobility, grip, fear-of-inversion stuff)? Also, are there common mistakes people make when trying advanced poses too early? I’m practicing in a studio with a teacher, but I’d love a clear list/examples so I can set realistic goals.
