Hi everyone, I’m fairly consistent with yoga (2–3 classes a week) but I keep running into the same annoying problem: my hands slip, especially in Downward Dog, Plank, and any flow with transitions. It’s worse when the class is warm or I’m stressed and sweating more. I’ve tried wiping my hands on my leggings (lol) and adjusting my stance, but I still feel like I’m sliding forward and then my wrists start to feel tired.
For context: I’m using a mid-range mat (not super old, maybe 8 months), I don’t use gloves or towels, and my teacher said “spread your fingers” but I’m not sure I’m doing it right. Is this more about mat grip, sweaty palms, or technique? Any tips for stopping hands from slipping in yoga (without buying a million things) would be appreciated.
