Hi everyone. I’m posting because I’m kind of stuck and I don’t know what’s “normal” anymore. I lost my dad a few months ago and I feel like grief comes in waves: some days I’m okay, other days my chest feels tight, I can’t focus, and I either sleep too much or not at all.
I’m not looking for a miracle fix, but I keep hearing people say yoga helped them with grief. I’ve only done a couple beginner videos at home and sometimes it makes me cry (which is honestly scary). Other times it calms me down for a bit.
Can yoga actually help with grief in a real way? If yes, what kind (yin, hatha, breathwork, meditation)? Also: is it normal to feel emotional during practice? I’m already considering therapy too, I just want something I can do day to day when the heaviness hits.
