Hi everyone, I’m 52 and I’m realizing how stiff I’ve gotten over the last few years. I work at a desk, walk a bit, but I can’t touch my toes anymore and my hips and shoulders feel tight (especially in the morning). I’m not trying to become super bendy, I just want to move better, feel less “rusty,” and not feel like my body is fighting me when I pick things up or get out of the car.
I keep seeing videos where yoga looks gentle, but I’m also worried I’ll hurt something or feel embarrassed in a class because I’m not flexible at all. So… can yoga actually help with flexibility after 50? If yes, what style or routine would you recommend to start safely (and how long did it take you to notice any changes)?
