Hi everyone, I’m new here. I’ve been dealing with emotional stress for a while (work pressure, family stuff, and that constant “tight chest / overthinking” feeling). I’m not in a crisis, but I feel like my nervous system is always switched on and I’m getting more irritable and tired than I want to be.
I’ve tried going for walks and cutting caffeine, which helps a bit, but I’m curious: can yoga help with emotional stress in a real way, or is it more like a temporary distraction? I’m not super flexible and the idea of joining a class makes me slightly anxious. If it does help, what style is best for stress—yin, hatha, vinyasa, breathing stuff?
Also, if you’ve used yoga for emotional stress, how long did it take to notice changes? Any beginner-friendly advice is welcome. And if you think therapy + yoga is the move, I’m open to that too.
