Hi everyone, I’m new here. I’ve been dealing with what feels like chronic stress for a long time (busy job, family stuff, constant “on” feeling). I sleep but I don’t feel rested, my shoulders are always up by my ears, and my brain keeps looping even when nothing is happening. I’m not looking for a miracle cure, just something realistic that could help me feel calmer day to day.
I’ve heard yoga can help with chronic stress, but I’m also skeptical because a lot of what I see online looks like super flexible people doing perfect poses. I’m not very flexible and I get embarrassed easily in classes. Does yoga actually help with stress in a practical way (like breathing, nervous system, sleep), and if so what kind should I start with? Any routines or tips for someone who’s stressed all the time? If it matters, I’m also considering talking to a therapist, just trying to add something supportive.
