Hi everyone, I’m new here. I’ve been wondering: can yoga help with ADHD?
I’m in my late 20s and I’ve always struggled with staying focused, procrastinating until panic mode, and feeling physically restless (like my brain is sprinting while my body is stuck). I’m not looking for a “cure” and I know ADHD is complex, but I’m trying to build habits that support me.
I tried a couple YouTube yoga videos and noticed that on some days I feel calmer after, but on other days I get bored halfway through and my mind starts hopping everywhere. Also: sitting still for meditation feels impossible sometimes.
If you have ADHD (or teach students who do), what styles helped you most? Any beginner-friendly routines, breathing exercises, or ways to keep it engaging? And how do you know if it’s actually helping vs just placebo?
(Also yes, I’m working with a professional already, just looking for lived experiences and practical tips.)
