I’ve been doing hot yoga (the studio is around 38–40°C) about 3x/week for the last month. I started mostly for stress and tight hips, but I noticed my heart rate gets pretty high during class and I’m drenched by the end.
My question: can hot yoga actually improve cardiovascular endurance, like help my stamina for running or just feeling less winded day to day? Or is it more that the heat makes it feel like cardio even if the fitness benefit is different?
For context: I’m not an athlete, more of a “walks + occasional jog” person. I’m also trying to be careful because sometimes I feel lightheaded when I stand up after savasana. I drink water but maybe not enough. Would love honest experiences and what to expect realistically.
